Prayers - September 1998

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. That the Lord brought us to a good, reasonably priced, piece of land for our clinic!

  2. For the rapid approval of our clinic project's new U.S. support organization--Open Door Medical Ministries!

  3. For Milt's successful lecture, his first in Romanian, to the general practice residents in Bucharest!

  4. That the Lord continues to give us a love for Romania and its people, despite all the difficulties that we encounter in accomplishing our work here!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For the Lord's continued guidance, and opening of doors, as we work with the architect to rapidly obtain the approvals needed before building can start. Also, guidance regarding the design of the clinic, that we don't overlook any requirements.

  2. That we will be able to distribute our excess medications to doctors who will appreciate them and who will give them to needy patients for free, rather than selling them.
  3. That we'll gradually get to know more specialists that we can trust. We're beginning to work on building a network of doctors for referral purposes, but even when doctors treat us very well, it's more difficult to find out whether they will treat poor patients well, who don't have money for under the table gifts.

  4. That at least some of the residents who heard Milt's lecture will take to heart what he said about doctor-patient relationships, and will determine in their futures to go against the patterns that they've seen throughout their medical education and will treat their patients with respect and compassion.

  5. For continued safety, unity and good health for us.

  6. For the Lord's continued provision for all our financial needs, both for our personal Support Fund and our Work Fund, which is currently the supporting fund for our clinic project as well as our other work expenses. When we receive information on how donations can be made directly to Open Door Medical Ministries, we'll let everyone know.

  7. That God will raise up more missionaries to work in Romania. That people will realize that God uses ordinary people to accomplish wonderful things in His Name and for His Kingdom.

  8. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders of this country will follow the Lord and seek to do His will, and that they will continue to oppose corruption and dishonesty at all levels of the government and society, 2) against the spirits of deception and corruption in this country, 3) for a revival in the church in Romania and for a "Promise Keepers" type revival among the men in Romania.
