Prayers - September 2003

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that we again received enough donations and income to cover our employee's salaries for August and September and to pay our other clinic expenses!
  2. Praise that we are seeing more patients, not just Romanians and Westerners, but also refugees from many nations!
  3. Praise for a safe and productive trip to and from the States!
  4. Praise that Dr. Wood and Dr. Massey were able to help at the clinic during our absence!
  5. Praise for God's healing at work in Flori and other patients!
  6. Praise that our kitties survived our absence! God answers both big and little prayers!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. . For interpersonal staff conflicts to be healed, and that criticism, envy, discord and gossip will be replaced by forgiveness, sharing and direct communication.
  2. For continued donations to our clinic project--enough to cover our employees' salaries and the utilities as well as some extra to partially finish the basement.  Our expenses are running about $6,000/month and income from patient visits has only been $2,000-$3,000 monthly.  Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428.  Donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give.
  3. For the Embassy to bring a permanent Medical Officer as soon as possible. With Linda only being able to work at the clinic 2 days per week, this affects the clinic finances as well.
  4. For the Lord to continue to bless our clinic with more patients, both the poor and those who can pay for their medical care and thus support the clinic expenses.
  5. For the Lord to provide more residents for us to teach, who are motivated to work hard in learning and in caring for patients--not just in treating diseases.
  6. For wisdom for us as managers so that we can bring out the best in our employees, and that our employees would not be afraid to communicate their problems and concerns with us.
  7. For continued healing of Kara's foot. It is much better than it was in the spring but certain activities still cause her pain.
  8. For Aristel, a Romanian friend who has now started chemotherapy for her breast cancer.  Pray for correct chemotherapy to be prescribed, that it will be available and for complete healing of her cancer.
  9. For Flori's continued healing of his scarred esophagus. For the Traistaru family to trust completely in the Lord for all their needs.
  10. For continued safety and health for us and all of the clinic staff.
  11. For the church plant that meets at our clinic, to be a blessing to many people.
  12. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage.
  13. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania.  We really need someone with management skills who can teach and mentor a Romanian.
  14. For the country of Romania:  1) that the leaders and the people will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds.  This is an ongoing, long term prayer.
