Prayers - October 1999
ANSWERED PRAYERS
- Praise that the Autorizatie de Constructie (building permit) did NOT come
when we hoped, since we now still have the option of modifying the window
layout, etc. of the upper floor.
- Praise for the Evangelism Explosion course that strengthened our own
evangelism skills as well as sharpening our focus.
- Praise for the Lord's continued provision for our personal financial
needs, including our Support Fund.
- Praise for continued safety and unity.
- Thanks for the many words of encouragement and prayers in response to an
urgent e-mail prayer request about the clinic.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- For Linda's asthma, that the Lord will either heal it completely or bring
the symptoms under better control with the medications that she is using.
- For wisdom as how to proceed regarding the clinic plans, approvals,
financing, and also potential parties interested in utilizing the upper floor.
- For the Lord to quickly guide Campus Crusade to the building that He has
in store for them here in Bucharest--or to reveal to the donor that sharing
the building with us has been His plan all along.
- That the Lord will continue to bring donors for our clinic project.
Donations can go either to our Work Fund at World Mission Prayer League (232
Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403) or to our project support organization,
Open Door Medical Ministries (C/O Clifford L. Olson; 9210 Science Center
Drive; New Hope, MN 55428).
- For the Lord's continued provision for all our financial needs, including
our Support Fund.
- For continued safety, unity and good health for us (better health for
Linda).
- That we will be able to obtain Romanian citizenship this year. The
initial meeting with the layer was encouraging.
- For Flori's parents to be willing to schedule the time to bring him to
Bucharest for evaluation, before his cough worsens again. The Christian who
introduced them to us almost 5 years ago was back in Romania briefly, and
challenged them (gently) to complete the walk of faith that started when they
prayed so fervently and tearfully at a monastery and he overhead their
prayers.
- For the ICC orphanage children, including Steliana, that they will
continue to catch up in their development. And for Ionut, that he won't need
to continue the cortisone long term for his asthma. Steliana went to the
hospital several days ago. We haven't received a follow-up report yet.
- That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We
need people with clinic management skills and evangelism skills for starters.
- For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders of this country will
follow the Lord and seek to do His will, and that they will recommit
themselves to opposing corruption and dishonesty at all levels of the
government and society, 2) against the spirits of deception and corruption
in this country, 3) for a revival in the church in Romania and for a
"Promise Keepers" type revival among the men in Romania.
