Prayers - October 2002

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that we are gradually getting more patients!
  2. Praise that we have once again received enough donations this month to cover our employee's salaries!
  3. Praise that a few Western patients at the clinic have given some extra money to our donation jar, to help meet some of the needs of the poor patients that we are trying to help!
  4. Praise that we have 4 doctors who will cover all of the next 3 weeks!
  5. Praise that Dr. Gross and his wife received Spanish citizenship!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For a safe enjoyable trip to the U.S. for us, and for everything to go well at the clinic while we are gone.
  2. For more donations for our clinic project--enough to cover our employees' salaries and the utilities for especially the next 4-6 months. Our monthly expenses are about $4,000. We hope that within 6 months we will have enough Western patients to cover the overhead. The CBC lab machine, an X-ray machine and finishing the basement are still long term goals. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. Donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give.
  3. For additional funds to be able to help some of the poorest of our patients with their medication expenses, costs of lab and other medical tests and other acute financial problems.
  4. That the doctors who are coming over the next 3 weeks will find their work busy enough, but with enough time to teach and to see some sites--to be a generally worthwhile experience for them as well as helping us out considerably.
  5. For Dr. Francisco Gross, that his children will also be able to get Spanish citizenship and that his diplomas will be approved in Spain soon. Pray also for a good quality Christian dentist here who would like to work with him in our clinic. (We have received some possible names, but he needs to return to talk with them.)
  6. For us to find other high quality Christian specialists who would like to work part-time in the clinic.
  7. For continued general good health, safety and unity, for us and for all of the people who are working at the clinic. Some of our employees were diagnosed with strep throat today and yesterday.
  8. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage.
  9. That the residents who will be learning at our clinic and the patients who come will experience Christ's love for them through our work and our words.
  10. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We need people with medical training, clinic organization and management skills, Christian counseling and evangelism skills as well as other skills.
  11. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders and the people will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds.
