Prayers - October 2001

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that the clinic was dedicated to the Lord on Sept. 22, 2001!
  2. Praise that the work on the clinic building is finally almost all done!
  3. Praise that the computers cleared through customs with Milt and Ruxi only waiting 7 hours in the customs office! Seven hours is "warp speed" when you don't pay "under the table gifts for faster service," also known as bribes.
  4. Praise for God's continued provision for the clinic project's financial needs!
  5. Praise that we received our invitations to take the citizenship oath--the last step in obtaining Romanian citizenship!
  6. Praise for continued safety, unity and good health (except that Linda's asthma has flared the last 2 weeks)!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For wisdom, guidance and endurance for President Bush and the leaders of this world as they make decisions and take action in response to the terrorist attack on the United States.
  2. That the remainder of the necessary work will be finished before winter, including the front gate and fence, putting in the sidewalks around the building, etc. There may be other options to replacing the hallway doors--we don't know yet.
  3. For us to have the time and energy to be able to do the rest of the work, with the help of our friends. Also, for wisdom as we interview potential employees.
  4. For God to continue to lead people to donate to our clinic project. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. For donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund, they still should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give. (WMPL prefers not to duplicate the work of ODMM.)
  5. For Dr. Francisco Gross, the dentist who will be working with us, to find a way to work legally in Bucharest. He had no difficulty with the Ministry of Health in Sibiu, where he worked the last 4 years, but the bureaucracy in Bucharest is a more imposing and difficult animal. His dental equipment arrived on Friday, 2 days ago!
  6. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage.
  7. For healing of Linda's asthma and continued general good health, safety and unity.
  8. For BEL Fellowship, our English language church--that the Lord will provide a full-time pastor.
  9. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We need people with medical training, clinic organization and management skills, Christian counseling and evangelism skills as well as other skills.
  10. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders and the people will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds. For wisdom, guidance and endurance for President Bush and the leaders of this world as they make decisions and take action in response to the terrorist attack on the United States.
