Prayers - October 2000

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that we received the Autorizatie de Constructie--our legal building permit!
  2. Praise for the team from Pennsylvania, for all the work accomplished, for the fellowship and for no injuries or illnesses during their time here!
  3. Praise for God's continued provision for the clinic project's financial needs!
  4. Praise that the construction continues to progress! We should have the basement windows in within 2 weeks--then the building will be completely enclosed.
  5. Praise for continued good health, safety and unity!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. The cold weather has arrived, and with the costs of the central hot water heating in the cities skyrocketing, many people have asked to be disconnected from the central heating system because their income or pensions are so small (as low as $24/month) they can hardly afford food, much less heat. This will be a very difficult, cold winter for many people here. Please pray for a mild winter, and that the economy will improve so that pensions can increase.
  2. For God to continue to lead people to donate to our clinic project. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. For donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund, they still should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give. (WMPL prefers not to duplicate the work of ODMM.)
  3. For the safety of all the workers on the construction project, for protection against theft of materials and tools, and also for no major delays in the construction process.
  4. That the process of getting connected to the city electricity and gas will be completed soon, and without delays caused by corruption.
  5. For our citizenship process to finally be successfully completed, soon!
  6. For more opportunities and ability to witness effectively in this culture.
  7. For continued good health, safety and unity.
  8. For the InAsMuch ministry to children of street kids and to girls who have been forced out of orphanages because they have turned 18--for wisdom to know how to reach the girls for Christ, most of whom have significant emotional and developmental damage from orphanage life.
  9. For the ICC orphanage children--for adoptive parents for the children or that their own parents will take them home and love them and care for them.
  10. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We need people with clinic organization and management skills and evangelism skills.
  11. For the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Romania--that the people will discern who is telling the truth and really has the skills to lead the country, and that those elected will not immediately become corrupted by the privileges of power.
  12. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds.
