Prayers - May 2003

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that the war is over and there were relatively few casualties! 2. Praise that we are seeing more patients! 3. Praise that we interviewed many very good candidates and we believe we have hired an exceptional person to work as receptionist/nurse! 4. Praise that we again received enough donations and income to cover our employee's salaries for April and to pay our other clinic expenses! 5. Praise that the church plant is growing!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For continued donations to our clinic project--enough to cover our employees' salaries and the utilities as well as some extra to finish the basement. Our expenses are running about $5,000/month. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. Donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give.
  2. We would like to partially finish the basement before the end of the summer. The EvFree church plant hopes to raise funds to finish a large room for a church. We would like to finish at least 2 more rooms as well as the halls, stairway and a storeroom. At a minimum we would need about $10,000. To finish the rest, probably another $5,000-8,000.
  3. For doctors to volunteer to come to cover for us here in Bucharest from 8/4 -9/4/03.
  4. For the Lord to continue to bless our clinic with more patients, both Romanian and foreigners.
  5. For the Lord to provide the right residents for us to teach, who are motivated to work hard in learning and in caring for patients--not just in treating diseases.
  6. For wisdom as to whether we should hire another nurse for the summer, possibly long term.
  7. For the church plant that meets at our clinic, to be a blessing to many people.
  8. For wisdom for us as managers so that we can bring out the best in our employees, and that our employees would not be afraid to communicate their problems and concerns with us.
  9. For continued safety and unity and for improved health for us and for all of the people who are working at the clinic. Especially for Cristiana, who will be having gall bladder surgery next week. She hasn't felt well for weeks. And for healing for Kara, with reflex sympathetic dystrophy affecting her foot.
  10. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage.
  11. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We really need someone with management skills who can teach and mentor a Romanian.
  12. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders and the people will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds. This is an ongoing, long term p
