Prayers - January 1999

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Rebekah York got excellent care in the pediatric hospital, Spitalul Maria Sklodowska Curie! She will need to have surgery to remove a thyroglossal duct cyst in the U.S. at some time in the future. Pray that it doesn't get reinfected in the meantime. Also, Larisa Tomeci improved without any additional treatment!
  2. The price estimate that the American company gave us for the structure (outer and interior walls, floors, roof) of the clinic building is excellent!

  3. For the good spirit of cooperation that seems to exist between all the people involved in the clinic project. Please keep praying for this.

  4. Due to Christmas gifts, our Support Fund is no longer at $0!

  5. For continued good health, safety and unity between us. We don't count having colds as being an exception to good health!

  6. Daniel Achim is responding well to chemotherapy for his lymphoma! But he is very lonely. Please continue to pray for him.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For the Lord's continued guidance, and opening of doors, as we work with the two architects involved in our project, and that the architect here in Bucharest will be able to obtain all the approvals needed before building can start. Also, guidance regarding the design of the clinic, that we don't overlook any requirements.
  2. That we will be able to obtain a final price estimate within the next month on the actual cost of all the different parts of the clinic building project (including the bomb shelter, the entryway/stairway, the plumbing, electricity and heating systems, the foundation, the fencing around the site, a security system, etc.)
  3. That the Lord will bring more donors toward our clinic project. Donations can go either to our Work Fund at World Mission Prayer League (232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403) or to our project support organization, Open Door Medical Ministries (C/O AbelConn, LLC; 9210 Science Center Drive; New Hope, MN 55428).
  4. That 2 shipments of medical supplies coming in the next 3 months will arrive safely and not be stolen or damaged while sitting in customs or after that.
  5. For the Lord's continued provision for all our financial needs, including our Support Fund.
  6. Campus Crusade has launched a fundraising plan to buy the second floor of our clinic building (zoning requirements insist that it be a 2 story building). Pray for their success in raising the needed funds, and also for a donor who might match the funds that individuals raise.

  7. For continued safety, unity and good health for us.

  8. That the Traistaru family will receive strength and courage from the Lord to follow through with getting Flori evaluated for possible surgery before Dr. Pesamosca, the best pediatric surgeon here, retires.

  9. That God will raise up more missionaries to work in Romania. That people will realize that God uses ordinary people to accomplish wonderful things in His Name and for His Kingdom.

  10. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders of this country will follow the Lord and seek to do His will, and that they will continue to oppose corruption and dishonesty at all levels of the government and society, 2) against the spirits of deception and corruption in this country, 3) for a revival in the church in Romania and for a "Promise Keepers" type revival among the men in Romania.
