Prayers - January 2004

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that the Christmas programs were very well received and the Gospel message that was shared was clear and powerful!
  2. Praise that we again received enough donations and income to cover our employee's salaries and to pay our other clinic expenses--as well as to continue working on the basement!
  3. Praise that we are seeing more patients! In January we saw more paying patients as well, praise the Lord!
  4. Praise that one Romanian resident, a Christian, started a 4 month rotation with us in January.
  5. Praise that we had safe travel to and from Budapest!
  6. Praise that the Purpose Driven Life Bible study at the clinic is going well!
  7. Praise that none of our clinic staff has gotten influenza!

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. For safe travel for Eric and Terra on their trip home next Saturday and quick recovery from jet lag.
  2. For doctors who are interested in working in the clinic when we are in the U.S. during late May and early June.
  3. Milt is preaching at BEL Fellowship on March 14, on John 15: 18-16:4. Pray for wisdom and guidance.
  4. For continued donations to our clinic project--enough to cover our employees' salaries and the utilities as well as some extra to partially finish the basement. Our expenses are running over $7,000/month and income from patient visits has only been $2,500-$3,500 monthly. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. Donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give.
  5. For the Lord to continue to bless our clinic with more patients, both the poor and those who can pay for their medical care and thus help to support the clinic expenses.
  6. For wisdom for us as managers so that we can bring out the best in our employees, and that our employees would not be afraid to communicate their problems and concerns with us.
  7. For continued healing of Kara's foot, affected by reflex sympathetic dystrophy. She's now receiving treatment in Louisiana. Her return to Romania will depend a lot on the success of these treatments.
  8. For the Bible study on, "The Purpose Driven Life". Pray that this study will help all of us grow deeper in our relationship with Christ.
  9. For safety and health for us and all of the clinic staff.
  10. For Flori's continued healing of his scarred esophagus. For the Traistaru family to trust completely in the Lord for all their needs. Also, someone tried to break into their house last night but fled when Georgeta's screams woke up the neighbors. She called us this morning and was still quite emotionally shaken. Her husband, Marian, was at work when this happened. Pray for peace and protection for their family.
  11. For Aristel, for complete healing of her breast cancer.
  12. For the church plant that meets at our clinic, to be a blessing to many people.
  13. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage.
  14. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We really need someone with management skills who can teach and mentor a Romanian. This person would need to know something about clinic management, personnel management, creating systems for inventory control, etc.
  15. For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders and the people will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds. This is an ongoing, long term prayer.
