Prayers - August 1998
PRAISES
- Praise that the Lord has given us a safe trip home to Bucharest, and no
trouble with jet lag!
- Praise for the additional gifts to our Work Fund for the Family Practice
Teaching Clinic in Bucharest!
- Praise that we did not seem to lose any language ability, and in fact, it
seems that we are perhaps more fluent now than when we left four months ago.
We have been talking to a lot of people in Romanian!
- Praise that the Lord has helped us to gather valuable information about
our clinic project, with the help of Gabi, our new assistant. The meetings
with the various departments in the Ministry of Health and College of Doctors
have elicited enthusiasm for our project, if not actual concrete assistance.
- Praise that the Lord continues to give us a love for Romania and its
people, despite all the difficulties that we encounter in accomplishing our
work there!
- Praise that Linda came out of her test thinking that she did okay. She
won't find out the actual results until October.
PRAYER REQUESTS
- For the Lord's continued guidance in setting up the new nonprofit
organization in the U.S. which will provide leadership and support for the
Open Door Medical Foundation in Romania.
- That the Lord will continue to guide us as we continue our search for the
best site for our Family Practice Teaching Clinic. We found out today that
the Ministry of Health has no available suitable buildings. So we will be
looking at parcels of land starting tomorrow.
- For continued safety, unity and good health.
- For the Lord's continued provision for all our financial needs, both for
our personal Support Fund and our Work Fund, including the finances needed to
build a clinic building.
- Milt will be giving a lecture to the General Practice residents Sept. 15.
Please pray that he will be able to do a good job, and do it in Romanian.
- That God will raise up more missionaries to work in Romania. That people
will realize that God uses ordinary people to accomplish wonderful things in
His Name and for His Kingdom.
- For the country of Romania: 1) that the leaders of this country will
follow the Lord and seek to do His will, and that they will continue to oppose
corruption and dishonesty at all levels of the government and society, 2)
against the spirits of deception and corruption in this country, 3) for a
revival in the church in Romania and for a "Promise Keepers" type revival
among the men in Romania.
