Prayers - August 2001

ANSWERED PRAYERS

  1. Praise that the construction has resumed and that the theft of some tile has appeared to be the only theft while we've been gone!
  2. Praise for God's continued provision for the clinic project's financial needs! However, the project still needs about $25,000 before the clinic is ready to begin the final inspection/approval process.
  3. Praise for continued good health, safety and unity! And for the sleep problems associated with jet lag to resolve soon!
  4. Praise that we finally have electricity in our building!
  5. Praise that the Lord gave Ruxanda, our director, the needed strength and perseverance while we were gone!
  6. Praise that in all our traveling in the U.S. the last 4 months we never lost any luggage, we remained healthy and had no significant problems!
  7. Praise that Dr. Gross and his family have found and settled in a house here in Bucharest, and he is eager to begin the process of finding a way to work with us, weaving his way through the bureaucracy in this respect.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. That the remainder of the work that we have already paid for will be finished promptly, including finishing the installation of the plumbing fixtures, the rest of the wiring, the heating system, etc., and that there are no leaks in the pipes!
  2. That the 1st quarter, 2001, TVA (Value Added Tax) refund will arrive soon. Ruxanda has informed us that once again the government financial office in Bucharest is still waiting for information from the government financial office in Braila.
  3. For God to continue to lead people to donate to our clinic project. Donations toward the clinic are best given to Open Door Medical Ministries, C/O Clifford Olson, 9210 Science Center Drive, New Hope, MN 55428. For donations to our Work Fund, Support Fund, Travel Fund and Personal Gift Fund, they still should go to World Mission Prayer League, 232 Clifton Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55403, specifying to which fund you wish to give. (WMPL prefers not to duplicate the work of ODMM.)
  4. For continued protection of the clinic against theft or damage. The guards we have now seem to be very honest.
  5. For us to have the time and energy to be able to do some of the work, like painting the sealer stain on the fence and cutting up the brush and tree roots with the chain saw from the trees that were removed for the fence.
  6. For our citizenship process to finally be successfully completed. Our attorney told us maybe in the fall last year's candidates will be accepted.
  7. For continued good health, safety and unity.
  8. For the ICC orphanage children--for adoptive parents for the children or that their own parents will take them home and love them and care for them. We haven't been out there yet, and don't know when we'll have time to start going again.
  9. That God will raise up more missionaries to work with us in Romania. We need people with medical training, clinic organization and management skills, Christian counseling and evangelism skills as well as other skills.
  10. For the new government in Romania--that they will govern for the benefit of the people and will not immediately become corrupted by the privileges of power. The political wrangling that is talked about in the newspapers is amazing!
  11. For the country of Romania: 1) that the new leaders will rediscover the meaning of integrity, 2) against the spirits of deception, self-deception and corruption that are so dominant in this country, and 3) for a revival in the church in Romania, especially among the men, for their hearts and their minds.
