| Milton and Linda (Burns) Hanson, M.D.s, have been serving the Lord in Romania as medical missionaries since 1994. Both "docs" were very successful highly-respected family practitioners in the Minneapolis area until they felt the Lord's urging to be so strong that they embarked on their mission to work in one of the poorest former Communist countries in the world. | |

Supported by World Mission Prayer League, their home church - Vision of Glory Lutheran in Plymouth, MN - and generous private donations from friends, patients and colleagues. Milt and Linda have spent the last 4 years learning the Romanian language and culture, providing medical care to both missionary families and their Romanian friends, working with the director of the general practice/family practice residency program in Bucharest, as well as working with the World Vision part time in its Primary Health Cares projects. The main project assisted the University of Cluj Medical School in introducing preventive health care courses into its curriculum. |
| They have also worked to provide a Christian witness to the people of Romania under some very difficult circumstances. It has always been their dream to build and operate a family practice teaching clinic in Bucharest, and now that they have overcome many obstacles, from government bureaucracy to language barriers, the dream is becoming a reality with the purchase of land for a clinic building, through the Open Door Medical Ministries foundation. | "Behold, I have put before you and open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power and you have kept My word and not denied My name." - Revelation 3:8 |
| The Hansons intend to remain in Romania as long as God allows them to work there, providing "an open door" to all who seek their gift of healing, their humanitarian efforts and their witness to the love of Jesus Christ. |
